If there are three or less bowel movements in a week, means you have constipation. It makes stools hard and dry and painful to pass at times. To prevent constipation:
- Eating more fruits, vegetables and grains with high fiber content
- Drinking plenty of water and other liquids
- Getting enough exercise
- Taking time to have a bowel movement when you need to
- Using laxatives only if your doctor says you should
- Asking your doctor if medicines you take may cause constipation
- Irritability
- Weight Gain
- Hemorrhoids
- Body Odor
- Skin Eruptions
- Headaches
